Season tickets available from Thursday

DISGRUNTLED Cherries fans look set to receive their season tickets in time for Saturday's League Two opener after the club confirmed the cards would be available for collection from Thursday evening.

A number of supporters had been in contact with the Daily Echo in recent days to complain about the hold-up, but the delay now appears to have been sorted out.

When asked by the Echo for an update on the situation, a club spokesperson revealed they were in possession of the cards and that the printing process had begun, with a view to ticket holders being able to pick up their cards between 5 and 8pm on Thursday and from 9am on Saturday.

Why should there not be a game ? If we are not out of admin. we carry on as we are. Stop trying to be so dramatic

He has got a point. Although the game certainly goes ahead, the fact we are waiting on our points decision because some fa guy is on holiday is a joke...

I wouldn't believe everything you read in the Echo.

This is NOT what the ticket office were saying just two hours ago. Saturday was looking unlikely then so perhaps some miracle has been performed in the meantime.

Have a look at the League's letter to Rotherham.

We are not Rotherham, just in case you missed that.

Bigun - FTC is right - the league has not yet agreed to give us (or Rotherham) our shares back.

If we do not meet their conditions and satisfy them we can complete the season financially then it could still just be a 22 team league.

Hopefully that will not be an issue but is still a possibility until the league says otherwise - and they have not yet done so.

What has the letter to Rotherham got to do with the cherries? How many more times are people going to take this all out of context, we will have a game Saturday and it's the League we are waiting on not the FA, can we stop getting this all out of context, as I said on the other post we knew weeks ago that we will start the season and we may well still be in administration nothing much has changed since them other than we may have an answer from the league but there is no way we will be out of admin before Saturday the time scale is now too short.

The letter to Rotherham has nothing whatsoever to do with the cherries, they have far greater problems like having a ground to play at it's not even close to our position, why not compare us to Luton whilst you are at it, they have been in admin longer than us and only got their share last week, but they got it back, so stop choosing the negative we could just as easily have the answer like Luton did last week.

It's not about Rotherham per se - it is with reference to the paragraph where they remind them about the Football League's rules - which are that a club can only start the season if it has the means to finish it.

That, in our case, would mean Mr. Krasner (not Mostyn) demonstrating that funds are in place and the legal framework is present to run the entire season in administration. As we can only legally be in administration for 12 months, that is not going to be the case.

(Apols for prior double post - pressed back once too often!)

The Old AFCB Company will not be out of administration at all until it is liquidated. The new company already exists. All it needs is the FL share.

Bigun - As at 2:30 this afternoon, Saturday was looking unlikely for Season Tickets to be ready. I have no idea how likely it is that we will be playing football.
Posted by: johnpeek, Bournemouth on 9:18pm Mon 4 Aug 08
There is nothing on the Cherries website regarding season tickets. I thought the new Chief Executive was supposed to be customer and commercially aware. To take the fans money and then not issue the tickets is a total disgrace. The shambles continues.
Posted by: johnpeek, Bournemouth on 9:39pm Mon 4 Aug 08
Having read the Football League website re Luton and Rotherham, I can only assume our match will not take place this Saturday, unless the FL give the green light before 3pm Saturday
Posted by: NewForestPhil, New Forest on 10:49pm Mon 4 Aug 08
Whilst there is still a possibility of the league not returning the share then maybe GK/AFCB realise that issuing season tickets for a season that may still not happen (however small a chance) is not a good idea. Hence nothing before Thursday by which time the league should have said yes or no.

We should remember that the FL is under tremendous pressure (particularly from HM Revenue and Customs) to make an example of some poor team. HMRC are determined to see at least one team go out of business, as an example to the rest. Luton have been able to prove funding for next season, so all they could do was dock the maximum points from them - 30 in total being more than draconian.

Presumably, the destabilising tactics over the golden share are all part of the process of seeing whether we could be the target, as they seem to have moved the goalposts several times over criteria for safaty (or at least kept quiet about what we need to do to satisfy them). I feel Rotherham are in a more tenuous position than us, as they cannot even play in the town, but the risk is very much still there.

I simply cannot understand the mentality of a system which sees us teetering on the edge of existence over a sum of money equivalent to less than many Premiership players will earn in a season. The FL would do well to spend more effort in trying to redress this balance between the top few and the rest, rather than kick teams who are already down. I know it is not exactly within the FLs hands, the Premiership being a separate entity, but surely they could try!

Why is there still a possibility that they won't return the share, come on let's not be so quick to write off the club, the game is very much on and the season tickets should be ready, more to do with who owns the club than the share on that front after all the new owners have only been on the scene 3 weeks, it takes a it of time to sort things out. So come on enough of this doom and gloom.

Do you want the club to be thrown out? why are you so determined for this to end in tears, it just doesn't make sense, we have seen nothing to remotely suggest that we won't start the season, so come on cheer up.
